Things To Know About Working With Sta-Level


Why should I book my next project at Sta-Level?

Sta-Level maintains a professional recording experience, while still providing a comfortable, relaxed, and inspiring workspace. Sta-Level is not a large corporate studio focused soley on money, nor is it an inexperienced garage studio. Sta-Level is built around the idea that clients of all sizes deserve an opportunity to fully realize their dream recordings with a seasoned recording industry veteran within their budget and timeline. Jeff works with you through the process so that you feel comfortable and confident, offering as much or as little direction as you wish. When compared to other studios in the region, we're confident you'll find Sta-Level offers an experience unrivaled by others in terms of experience, affordability, comfort, and quality.

What are the studio hours?

Sta-Level operates by appointment only. Please send an email to stalevelrecording@gmail.com to set up a time and tell us about your project.

Are studio tours available?

Yes! Please make an appointment to tour the studio and discuss your project prior to booking your first session.

Where can I hear samples of Sta-Level work?

Project samples are available on the "Samples" page of our website and are switched out periodically. You can also request to listen to sample work during your studio tour.


Can I afford to record at Sta-Level?

Your project is our passion. We are willing to do everything we can within our means to work within your budget and help you fully realize your project.

I recorded my songs already, but want you to mix them or I need to do some overdubs on existing tracks. Can Sta-Level help?

Yes. From television networks and high-profile clients to small artists who recorded their own songs, but are not confident with mixing, Sta-Level frequently accepts mixing work from all over the world.

How are sessions booked?

Email us at stalevelrecording@gmail.com to discuss your project. Please include the dates and times you have in mind, along with information regarding the size and type of project you would like to do.

How should I prepare for my session?

Practice! If you're recording with a click track then practice to a metronome and map out the tempo ahead of time. Do anything and everything you need to minimize stress and nerves so you can feel relaxed and comfortable for your session. There are many articles available online by searching "how do I prepare for my recording session?" Take the time to read the articles and blogs, as they will ultimately save you time and money during your session.

When are deposits and balances due?

Partial payments are required to book a session as discussed between you and Sta-Level. Any remaining balance is due at the end of each session, unless alternative terms have been agreed upon between you and Sta-Level. Rough mixes from your session will be withheld until session is paid in full.

What forms of payment does Sta-Level accept?

Either cash or PayPal. Checks are only accepted if cleared prior to the session date.

Is there a minimum session time?

The fee for two-hours is applied to any sessions two-hours or less.

Do you allow session setup time?

Yes, setup time will be discussed at the time of session booking.

Are food and drink permitted?

Yes, if kept in the lounge area.

Are our friends allowed to come to our session?

All guests must be cleared with Sta-Level. That said, having your buddies come hang out is typically not recommended as it can be distracting and even create a degree of confusion.

Are we allowed to take photos and videos at Sta-Level?

Yes, however we request that you run any photos or videos you intend to share to promote your band past Sta-Level prior to any public display. We value our relationship with our clients, and encourage posts that promote both the studio and your work in the studio, just please keep us in the loop when you're publically sharing media captured within our walls.


Is there a house drum set we can use?

Yes. We have a 1967 Ludwig set, which can be heard on many of the songs recorded at Sta-Level

Will you keep and store my session data?

For the duration of your project, yes, however you should make plans to back up your session files once Sta-Level's work and obligations on your project are complete.
